Genesis Pro & Genesis SQL — job costing, complex awards and labour tracking, Australia

Genesis does everything TA100 does, then adds the machinery for workplaces where labour has to be costed as well as paid: five levels of job structure, schedule lockouts, occurrence ratings and a real approval workflow.

  • Both editions sold and supported: Genesis Pro and Genesis SQL
  • Job costing by department, job, step, operation and task
  • Piece rates with good and scrap quantities
  • Over 100 reports, plus a built-in report writer for the ones we haven't thought of

What it does

Time, attendance and where the labour actually went

Genesis starts from the same base as TA100 — unlimited shifts, pay categories, pay rules and departments, automatic timecard calculation, shift differentials, automated polling and scheduled reporting. What it adds is structure underneath the hours.

Scheduling and lockouts

  • Profile lockouts — the clock itself refuses a punch outside the employee's scheduled window, so nobody starts paid time forty minutes early
  • Schedule editor with a graphic timeline and per-day shift overrides
  • Multiple schedule adjuster — reschedule an entire department on one screen
  • Wage assignment by department, step, job, operation or task, so a transfer changes the rate automatically

Approvals and attendance management

  • A supervisor approval editor with separate views for absences, missing punches, attendance infractions and requests
  • Occurrence ratings — point values against attendance occurrences, with warning notices generated automatically at defined infraction levels
  • Time-off requests submitted by employees through the web module and reviewed in the approval editor
  • Benefit and leave accrual management, with balances employees can see for themselves

Biometric template distribution

Genesis manages which employees are assigned to which clock, which is how biometric templates get to the right terminals across a multi-site rollout — for the current SY-910 and SYnergy terminals and for the older hand and fingerprint clocks still in service.

Job costing

Five levels, so a job's labour cost is a fact rather than an estimate

This is the reason most Genesis sites are Genesis sites. Time is captured against a structure, not just a clock.

Cost structureDepartment · Job · Step · Operation · Task — five levels, tracked and distributed
Data validationValid numbers defined in advance, with descriptions displayed at the terminal so the operator sees what they picked
Piece ratesPay by piece using two user-definable quantities — good and scrap
Quantity reportingDollars spent per part, and one employee's efficiency against another's
Budget and forecastEnter budgeted hours and dollars, compare against scheduled and actual time, forecast cost from the schedule
Badge and barcodeIntegrated generator for employee badges and job-costing barcodes — including photo and job ID — to any laser printer

Labour transfers between jobs are punches like any other, so the cost moves when the person moves. That is the difference between costing a job and guessing at it afterwards.

Payroll

Hours out, in the format your payroll reads

Australian payroll systems

Genesis exports directly to most Australian payroll systems — MYOB, MicrOpay, Attaché and more.

Every payroll export, system by system

Excel and custom formats

Hours export to Excel, and building your own export format is included with a new system — to your payroll's exact specification, defined once and run every pay period. We build exports to a customer's format too. Job cost data exports the same way, so the finance side of the business gets its numbers without a second data-entry pass.

Employee records import from payroll rather than being keyed twice.

Orphaned systems

Lost your Genesis dealer?

We take over support for existing installations — licence transfers, version upgrades, configuration recovery and payroll re-mapping. A Genesis system with nobody behind it is not a system you have to throw away.

Older installations often turn up missing the polling key, with a job structure nobody has documented and a pay rule that has been wrong since a supervisor left. We work out what it is doing, write it down, and get the pay file clean again.
