TA100 and Genesis — attendance software built around your pay rules
Two products, one job: turn punches into hours your payroll can pay without argument. TA100 suits straightforward shifts and rounding. Genesis carries the workplaces where the rules do the heavy lifting — job costing, premiums, lockouts, approvals.
- Both editions of both products sold, installed and supported in Australia
- Rounding, overtime and penalty rules applied before payroll sees a number
- Exports to most Australian payroll systems, plus Excel and custom formats
- Same software whether punches come from a wall clock, a PC or a browser
Which software fits your workplace?
The difference is not features for their own sake — it is how much rule complexity your workplace carries, and whether you need to cost labour against jobs rather than just pay it.
TA100
Automates attendance tracking and the calculation of time and wages. Unlimited shifts, pay categories, pay rules, departments and jobs — so "straightforward" means your rules, not a cut-down product.
Approvals sit in front of payroll, so overtime is a decision rather than a surprise in the pay file.
- Automatic timecard calculation and an approval editor
- Over 75 built-in payroll and management reports
- Automated clock polling and scheduled reports, emailed to supervisors
- Optional leave accrual and bell control modules
Genesis
Everything TA100 does, plus a five-level cost structure — department, job, step, operation and task — and the scheduling machinery that goes with it.
Adds profile lockouts, occurrence ratings, employee time-off requests and a supervisor approval workflow that separates absences, missing punches and infractions.
- Job costing down to task level, with piece-rate quantities
- Complex shifts, differentials and premium rules
- Clock-level schedule lockouts — no clocking on an hour early
- Over 100 reports plus a built-in report writer

Tell us what you're runningTwo editions of each
Both products ship in a Pro edition and an SQL edition. The software is the same; what changes is where the data lives and how it is backed up.
Pro edition
Self-contained — nothing else to install, and no database administrator needed. Suits a single site or a small number of clocks.
SQL edition
Runs on a SQL Server database, so attendance data sits inside the backup, security and reporting regime your IT people already run.
Which one you need
If you already run SQL Server, take the SQL edition. If you do not, Pro is the simpler system to own. We will say which is right for your site before you buy.

Clean hours, in the format your payroll actually reads
The export is the point of the whole system. Hours are calculated once, approved by a supervisor, and handed to payroll as a file — not re-keyed off a report.
Australian payroll systems
Both products export directly to most Australian payroll systems — MYOB, MicrOpay, Attaché and more.

Excel, and formats we build for you
Two things matter more than the length of the list. First, hours export to Excel — so if your payroll is a spreadsheet, or your bureau wants a spreadsheet, that is a supported path rather than a workaround.
Second, building your own export format is included with a new system. If your payroll wants a CSV with your columns in your order, that format is defined once and runs every pay period — and we will build it for you if you would rather not. Custom export formats are ordinary work here, not a special project: it is how we take on systems whose original supplier is long gone.
Data comes back the other way too: employee records can be imported from payroll rather than typed in twice.

Support & Reset CareQuestions we are asked
What is award interpretation?
Award interpretation is applying the rules of an employee's award or agreement to their actual worked time: ordinary hours, overtime thresholds, penalty rates for nights, weekends and public holidays, allowances and breaks. The software does this automatically each pay period, so payroll receives hours already split into the right pay categories rather than raw clock times.
How does time and attendance software calculate overtime and penalty rates?
Your shifts, rounding, overtime thresholds and penalty rules are set up once as pay rules. Every pay period the software applies them to the punches automatically and writes the result into pay categories, so overtime and penalties are calculated before payroll sees a number. Approvals sit in front of payroll, which makes unapproved overtime a decision rather than a surprise in the pay file.
Which payroll systems can time and attendance software export to?
TA100 and Genesis export directly to most Australian payroll systems — MYOB, MicrOpay, Attaché and more. Hours also export to Excel, and building an export to your own format is included with a new system, which is how any payroll not on the list is handled. The full list, system by system, is on the payroll exports page.
What is the difference between TA100 and Genesis?
Both turn punches into paid hours under your award. TA100 suits workplaces with straightforward shifts and rounding: unlimited shifts, pay categories and pay rules, over 75 reports, and automated polling. Genesis does everything TA100 does and adds five-level job costing by department, job, step, operation and task, piece rates, schedule lockouts and a supervisor approval workflow.
Do I need SQL Server?
Only if you take an SQL edition. Both TA100 and Genesis ship in a Pro edition and an SQL edition: the SQL editions run on a SQL Server database, so attendance data sits inside the backup and security regime your IT people already run. The Pro editions are self-contained, with nothing else to install and no database administrator needed. If you already run SQL Server, take the SQL edition; if you do not, Pro is the simpler system to own.
